Embrace the Change: Succeed in a Competitive Market
Embrace the Change - Succeeding in a Competitive Market is a free public workshop sponsored by SCORE Delaware, Coastal Point, Taylor Bank, and the Bethany Fenwick-Area Chamber of Commerce. Join us for a morning of breakfast and networking as we hear from a panel of five local business owners who will share their insights and stories of success in a competitive market. Learn strategies and best practices that have proven to be effective in challenging economic and competitive environments, which you can then apply in your own business to succeed and foster growth. Seating is limited and registration is required, so don't delay!
OUR PANEL INCLUDES:
Craig Lednum– As one of the three sons of Creative Concepts’ founders Bobbi and Wayne Lednum, Craig began working in the business as a drapery installer as soon as he was old enough. Since then he’s seen the business evolve from offering window treatments and accessories to complete home furnishings and design services.
Kami Banks-Kane– Banks Wines & Spirits was founded in 2003 by Russell and Mackie Banks with their children Ted and Kami, who began her career at Banks Wines & Spirits right after graduating from The Ohio State University. The store was named 2018 Retailer of the Year by the trade publication, Beverage Dynamics.
Jim Weisgerber–Jim has ownership in a number of local restaurants, including local Bethany Beach barbecue hotspot, Bethany Blues in 2003 and expanded with a second location in Lewes in 2009. Since then, the restaurants have become known for their award-winning sauces and rare and exclusive whiskey menu.
Gerald Hocker, Jr. - Gerry is the Vice President of Hocker’s Super Center, G&E Grocery and Hardware Stores, which has served our area for over 45 years and employs approximately 160 people. Both stores offer "store made" meats and catering services for events of all types. The family-owned business recently relocated its Ocean View location to the 50,000 square foot space in the Salt Pond Plaza.
Susan Lyons– Coastal Point was established by Susan, a veteran of the newspaper industry, with editor Darin McCann, and a group of investors in 2003.
