Event Description:
This month, join us at the CHEER Center in Ocean View to learn about the unique partnership between CHEER and La Red Medical Services.  These two organizations have come together to close the healthcare gap in Sussex county in terms of services, transportation and how to best serve Sussex County.
Rosa Rivera
La Red Health Center Chief Operations Officer

Rosa Rivera was the Chief Operations Officer of the Henrietta Johnson Medical Center (HJMC), a multi-site family health care center offering comprehensive primary healthcare and dental services. Ms. Rivera was named Henrietta’s CEO in 2005 following 18 years with HJMC in a wide range of managerial capacities.  After 27 years of service with the last ten years acting as the organization’s Chief Executive Officer, Ms. Rivera now serves as the Operations Officer of La Red Health Center.
A native of Puerto Rico, Rosa has lived in Wilmington, DE for the past 32 years.  In 2006, Rosa received the Hispanic Professional Achiever Award from the Latin American Community Center and in October 2007 she received an award from ABC Channel 6 Community Advisory Board for her outstanding community service.  Appointed by Governor Minner, Rosa served in the Delaware Healthy Mother and Infant Consortium and was a former member of the Governor’s Consortium on Hispanic Affairs.
Ms. Rivera also served as a volunteer Board Member for the Neighborhood House, Inc. in Wilmington and served for 8 years as Delaware’s Vice President for the Mid-Atlantic Association of Community Health Centers. A graduate from Wilmington’s University, she earned her Bachelor’s degree in Business Management and graduated with honors Cum Laude.  Rosa was inducted as a Delta Epsilon Rho.

G. Anthony DelFranco
CHEER Director of Marketing

A resident of Sussex County since 2013, Anthony has over 20 years of fundraising with 15 years in higher education as a major gift officer at LaSalle University in Philadelphia and Monmouth University ln West Long Branch, N.J. Currently, Anthony is the Director of Marketing for CHEER, Inc. a non-profit senior service agency.  As the Marketing Director he is responsible for all aspects of marketing, including, but not limited to, managing the CHEER web-site, posting press releases to media outlets, making presentations, and educating organizations of the programs/services that CHEER provide for the 50+ population in Sussex County. He is also co-editor for CHEERFUL Living Quarterly Magazine, actively participates in CHEER fundraising planning committees, and also manages CHEER’s Social Media presence in Facebook, Twitter and Pinterest. Anthony is also on the Board of Directors for the Greater Georgetown Chamber of Commerces, and Habitat for Humanity.
The CHEER La Red partnership is collaboration between CHEER and La Red that is designed to provide access to high quality adult and senior services throughout Sussex County, especially in geographic areas of high-unmet healthcare needs where La Red lacks a physical presence. Through this collaboration, CHEER will complement its current client offerings by providing the clinical space needed for the delivery of ambulatory health care services not presently available to its membership through CHEER service offerings. La Red will increase its capacity to meet the unmet health care needs of the growing senior population by placing its medical providers in close proximity within communities where the senior population congregates.

A good referral for LRHC would include any employee, customer, or neighbor of a Bethany-Fenwick Chamber member who needs access to high quality healthcare regardless of whether or not they have insurance or the ability to pay. The Delaware State Chamber of Commerce’s Small Business Alliance has recognized LRHC with the 2017 Non-Profit Superstar in Business Award. The Marvin S. Gilman Superstars in Business Award, named for one of Delaware’s leading small business entrepreneurs, honors businesses and nonprofit organizations for their outstanding achievements and model approaches to business and management.
