Job Description
The Weekend Tourism Specialist promotes the Quiet Resorts as a tourist and leisure destination by providing visitor and resident information with a high degree of customer service.  This position oversees the daily operations of the Information Center, requires a strong working knowledge of the Quiet Resorts Area and the ability to fulfill tourism requests in a timely manner.  We are looking for someone interested in a flexible job share position, working every other weekend, with additional shifts available working at our downtown Kiosk during the summer.

Major Duties & Tasks
• Oversees the Daily Operations of the Information Center.
• Enthusiastically greet visitors and provide needed assistance as requested. 
• Answer tourism/information phone requests, retrieves and respond to voicemails and emails. 

• Ability to use the computer to process Delaware State Park Passes and look up information for guests.
• Represent the Information Center/Chamber of Commerce in providing tourism
  information to visitors, local residents and all other customers.
• Provides excellent customer service at all times, taking responsibility for answering  
  inquiries in person, by telephone and by email and via the website.
• Retrieves, date-stamp, and disseminate incoming mail.
• Tracks all visits and communication to the Information Center on a daily basis.
• Maintains information materials: discards outdated brochures or contact member for
  replacement.
• Opens and closes the Information Center.
• Provides referrals via phone calls, walk-ins, emails from chamber membership database,
  external resources and website resources.
• Responds to complaints from visitors per policy.
• Sells tickets for community events and other entities at front desk.


Skills and Competencies
• Working knowledge of the Chamber service area, member businesses and the State of Delaware.
• Work independently and with minimal supervision.
• Great attitude and customer service.
• Proficient in payment processing (cash, credit cards, checks).
• Ability to lift 20 lbs.
• Professional appearance.
• Flexible and able to multitask.
• Excellent telephone and personal communication skills.

Computer Proficiency/Ability to Learn
  • Chambermaster (Chamber of Commerce software)
  • Microsoft Office Suite
  • Social Media Platforms
  • Internet search engines
  • Delaware State Park Passes software

Working Hours
April – September: 
     Alternate Saturday / Sunday > 9:00 – 3:00 p.m.
October – March:   
    Alternate Saturday> 9:00 – 1:00 p.m.

Flexibility to cover other shifts in the Tourism Office and Information Kiosk (summer) as needed is desirable.

• Performance will be measured by evaluating execution of the key functions particularly as related to advancing the strategic goals of the organization.
