Position Title:           Tourism Services Coordinator & Operational Support
 

Position Summary
The Tourism Services Coordinator oversees all the tourism services including the daily operations of the Information Center/Seasonal Informational Kiosk and serves as the operational support for the Chamber of Commerce. This position plays an integral part of the Chamber team, advances the mission of the organization and supports the infrastructure.
 
Major Duties & Tasks
  • Manages the Daily Operations of the Information Center and Seasonal Information Kiosk
    • Greet visitors/provide needed brochures, maps and other information upon request.
    • Answer tourism/information phone requests, retrieve & respond voicemails and disseminate information on a daily basis record number of calls emails and visitors.
    • Makes the schedule for the Information Center and Information Kiosk
    • Retrieve, date-stamp, and disseminate incoming mail
    • Tracks all visits and communication to the Information Center on a daily basis
    • Maintains and documents information materials: procures, stocks materials and discards material as warranted
    • Maintains and orders office supplies
    • Assists in mass mailings including monthly membership invoices, renewal thank you, etc.
    • Provides referrals via phone calls, labels, etc. from chamber membership database, external resources and website resource
    • Responds to complaints from visitors per policy
  • Researches and implements destination marketing initiatives focusing on tourism marketing and services in conjunction with the Executive Director and Marketing Manager
  • Secures & maintains vendor relations for the operations of the organization
  • Assists logistically with Chamber events including networking, community and signature events
  • Assists in the implementation of marketing plan including the website, social media and print materials
  • Serves as Administrative Support for the Chamber of Commerce
    • Maintain and assist in the data integrity of the Content Management System, Chambermaster
    • Input job descriptions and events, registers participants and members for events, etc.
  • Assists with bookkeeping: tracks invoices and deposits
  • Distributes & tracks Discover Guides throughout the Mid-Atlantic Region and locally

Monday – Friday: 9am – 5pm with additional hours for specified events Key Performance Measures
  • Performance will be measured by evaluating execution of the key functions particularly as related to advancing the strategic goals of the organization.
