Clear Space Theatre Company

About

Clear Space Theatre Company is the most prolific producer of professional theater in the state of Delaware. Starting in 2027, Clear Space will produce a mainstage season at 20 Baltimore Avenue as well as a satellite black box theater series at 37 Baltimore Avenue, offering a total of 14 productions to audiences from across the country here in coastal Delaware. Upcoming and recent productions have included recent Broadway hits such as "Waitress," "Dear Evan Hansen," and "Come From Away," cherished classics like "Noises Off," "42nd Street," and "Holiday Inn," and innovative new plays such as "She Kills Monsters," "Perfect Arrangement," and the world premiere of "The Bechdel Test." Artists on stage and off come from a mix of local professionals and performers from across the globe, selected through auditions in New York, DC, and virtual submissions. The Clear Space Arts Institute provides arts-based learning for young people and retired adults, from age 3 to 93, including 10-12 week programs each spring and fall, as well as week-long camps for all ages every summer. Each semester, young people in the Arts Institute produce a fully staged production on the mainstage, and each summer a play for young audience featuring youth artists plays at Clear Space and on tour. Scholarships are offered to all students with economic need. As a nonprofit, donations to Clear Space are fully tax deductible. Charitable giving accounts for roughly 50% of Clear Space's annual operating budget, helping Clear Space keep ticket prices low and live theater accessible.
