SUMMARY:Vision 2.0 for Creating a Culinary Coast with Helen Raleigh
DESCRIPTION:On Wednesday\, April 16th\, Helen Raleigh of Story Hill Farm will share her "Vision 2.0 for Creating a Culinary Coast ". The talk\, with the support of Southern Delaware Tourism\, introduces an ambitious framework for expanding the Culinary Coast concept beyond restaurants to create a complete ecosystem of farmers\, local production\, artisanal craft\, and community collaboration.\n\n\n\nNative Delawarean Helen Raleigh spent her summers growing up in Sussex County. After relocating back east\, she began to see the region through new eyes - recognizing both its challenges and its extraordinary potential. What began as an environmental concern led Helen to establish Story Hill Farm\, where she practices regenerative agriculture and raises heritage livestock while providing local food security through the Story Hill Farm Store.\n\n\n\nBut Helen's vision extends beyond a single farm. As a co-founder of Henlopen Sea Salt Company and an advocate for local agricultural resilience\, she has become increasingly passionate about how Sussex County's rich soil and diverse growing conditions could transform our region's future. With our community rapidly transitioning from tourist-based to year-round\, Helen sees a critical window of opportunity.\n\n\n\nThe event is sponsored by the Bethany Beach Cultural & Historical Affairs Committee and will take place in Town Hall\, 214 Garfield Parkway\, at 5:00 p.m.\n\n\n\nSince 2005 the Bethany Beach Cultural and Historical Affairs Committee has been sponsoring cultural events during the off season. Topics of interest run the gamut from shipwrecks and treasures to music and historic tales. All programs are free and open to the public.
