In preparation for the upcoming Fenwick Island town council election, the Bethany-Fenwick Area Chamber of Commerce would like to announce and extend an invitation to its hosting of a “Meet the Candidates” event on the morning of Saturday, July 17th at 9:00 am.  The town council election is on August 7th of this year, and there are eight total candidates competing for four open seats.
 
The event will be held outdoors in the parking lot of the Chamber of Commerce to avoid any complications with the ongoing pandemic and safety. A microphone and speaker system will be provided so that candidates can be heard.   Pre-submitted questions will be gathered from the public through July 12, and we ask those questions to be emailed to membership@thequietresorts.com.

This forum  will be moderated by an independent 3rd party 
 
Each candidate will be given a short introduction period followed by questions that the candidates will be asked to address for a predetermined time. Following the Q&A, there will be a brief meet and greet section of the event.

There are four incumbents and four challengers running, the incumbents being Mayor Eugene Langan, Vice-Mayor Richard Mais, and council members William Weistling Jr. and Mitchell Houser Sr. The challengers include Janice Bortner, Paul Breger, Natalie Magdeburger and Jacqueline Napolitano.

 
There will be additional information to follow regarding a rain date, and event rules put in place to provide structure and avoid disrespectful behavior or speech throughout.
