International Student Orientation Program (ISOP) Meeting
HOUSING PARTNERS COMMITTEE MEMBERS SOUGHT FOR PROGRAM
In the next step in launching the new International Student Outreach Program (ISOP) of the Quiet Resorts, partners are being sought to house or host international students serve on a committee or provide a meal or cultural experience. All who are interested are encouraged to attend the next meeting on Tuesday, March 29th at the South Coastal Library in Bethany Beach beginning at 4:30 p.m. The primary objective of this meeting is to identify community members who are interested in housing international students or serve actively on the ISOP planning committee. Every year, the J-1 Visa program provides countless opportunities, including here in the Quiet Resorts, for students to gain access to educational resources or receive on the job training for a specified length of time. Several hundreds of international candidates come to Sussex County each year to be part of the program and boost the seasonal workforce. With an anticipated shortage in housing for 2016, rental companies or private hosts are currently sought to provide student housing. In addition, volunteers are being recruited to grow the new International Student Program as a whole.
The International Student Outreach Program (ISOP) of the Quiet Resorts is dedicated to easing the transition into the area with orientation classes and bike safety courses. In addition, the program seeks to provide assistance in securing housing, offer meals and organize cultural events.
