Jacob Jones: His Life in Lewes during the Revolutionary War
Retired naval officer, historian, and Lewes Historical Society member, Mr. Bill Manthrope will present "Jacob Jones: His Life in Lewes During the Revolution".
Since retiring to the coastal area in 1998, Manthrope has been researching, speaking and writing on the naval heritage of Delaware. He has contributed articles to Pull Together, the publication of the Naval Historical Foundation and the Journal of the Lewes Historical Society. In addition, he has written a classified history of one aspect of naval intelligence for the Office of Naval Intelligence and Navy Archives as well as articles for the Naval War College Review and the Naval Intelligence Professional's Quarterly. Bill will share pieces of his initial work on a third book which will focus on the life of Jacob Jones during the American Revolution in Lewes, Delaware.
