Officials with the CHEER Community Center are collecting gift donations for their annual Operation Christmas CHEER Event. Every year, volunteers across Sussex County spend Christmas day delivering hot meals and Christmas gifts to seniors in the area who may be spending the holiday alone. In 2017, CHEER delivered Christmas Day meals to 265 seniors. Items such as socks, scarves, and sweaters can be dropped off at any CHEER location in Delaware. Gifts will be accepted until December 20th.
