Poetry Reading at the Georgetown Public Library
Join us for a night of Poetry to celebrate National Poetry Month! The poets are Sherry Chappelle, Irene Fick, and David Salner.
Sherry Chappelle has been a word hoarder since childhood. She loves poetry for its sweep: from humor to revelation, its history and mystery. Her chapbook, Salmagundi won the Dogfish Head Poetry Prize. Her work has appeared in journals and anthologies and was nominated for the Pushcart Prize.
Irene Fick is the author of The Wild Side of the Window (Main Street Rag) and The Stories We Tel (Broadkill Press). Both received first place awards from the National Federation of Press Women. Irene’s poems have also appeared in Delmarva Review, Gargoyle, The Broadkill Review and The Blue Mountain Review. Irene lives in Lewes and is active in two writers groups. Of David Salner’s sixth poetry collection, John Skoyles, Ploughshares poetry editor, said: “The Green Vault Heist is not only a beautiful book, it is great company.” Summer Words: New and Selected Poems also appeared in 2023. His novel A Place to Hide won first place for 1900s historical fiction from Next Generation Indie Book Awards. He’s worked as iron ore miner, steelworker, baseball usher, and now librarian.
