Summer Kids Camp -Theater
The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe by C.S. Lewis will be the inspiration for this Theater Camp!
Art League of Ocean City will host a Theater Camp for children this summer. Participants will learn the components of theater and will present a production at the end of the week! The theme for this week will be inspired by the classic novel The Lion, The Witch and the Wardrobe by C.S. Lewis!
Each day children will learn theater skills from 10:00 - 12:00, have lunch and recess from 12:00 - 1:00 and continue with theater skills from 1:00 - 3:00.
Participants will learn many theater skills such as stage presence, dialogue, collaboration, script analysis, improvisation, just to name a few. This is a great opportunity for children to work together, meet new friends and get creative!
All participants will perform in a production on Thursday afternoon.
Ages 6-13.
About the Instructor:
Kathryn Redden is the Artistic Director of Lower Shore Performing Arts Company providing live performing arts events, arts alive education programs for adults and children in public speaking, art forms, writing and techniques for actors. She was the originator of the annual summer theater academy held each year at the Marva Theater and now with LSPAC. Kathryn is an artist creating various media art in acrylic, mixed media, photography and gel prints in her Hope Feathers Studio. She has been an exhibitor at the Art League.
Kathryn has been a director, actor, producer, set designer/decorator —depends upon the production. She is currently performing as Mrs. Howell in LSPAC’s production of "Gilligan’s Island the Musical*. She has been Truvy, hair salon owner extraordinaire, in Robert Harling’s "Steel Magnolias", suspected murderer in "The Thin Man Radio Show", a Charwoman in Dicken’s "A Christmas Carol", a Baroness in Rodgers and; Hammerstein’s "The Sound of Music" to name a few.
She holds a Master’s Degree in Education from Salisbury University and a Toastmasters Advanced Communicator Gold certification.
