Tickets on Sale: Selbyville Historical Society Second Annual Fundraiser
The Selbyville Historical Society is excited to invite you to join us for our Second Annual Fundraiser to help us preserve, maintain and restore Senator John G. Townsend’s home. The event will be held on Saturday, May 31, 2025, Senator Townsend’s 154th birthday, at the Selbyville Fire Company Banquet Hall (30 N. Main Street) from 6pm to 9pm. The event will include a delicious dinner featuring Chicken Chesapeake and Tenderloin of Beef as well as a silent auction, a free drawing, a raffle, and adult refreshments including “Strawberry King Lemonade”. Plus, some brief remarks from Russell McCabe, Delaware’s Retired State Archivist. Tickets are $100 each and must be purchased in advance. We hope you will be able to join us on May 31st. FYI: Tickets are limited; they sold out last year!
The proceeds from this event will be used to Preserve, Restore & Maintain Senator Townsend’s historic home. The Society not only plans to restore the building but to house a museum inside. Within the museum, we plan to collect, archive and display precious artifacts and memorabilia from Senator Townsend’s illustrious life as well as present programs that educate and illustrate our history.
