Women Spies During the Civil War

Two prominent women who lived in the Civil War capitals of Washington, DC and Richmond, Virginia engaged in espionage in support of the cause to which they were dedicated.  Van Lew spied for the North, and Greenhow was a Southern operative.  Both women were spymasters; each heading up a spy ring.  Presenter, Tom Ryan, will discuss their methods and collaborators as well as their successes and failures.  Judy Dixon and Laura Wils will reenact the women.
