2026 Ocean to Bay Bike Tour - Volunteer Registration

Calling all volunteers!

2,000 cyclists of all levels will be participating in the Ocean to Bay Bike Tour through Sussex County's beautiful beaches, bays, and beyond April 24-25! This event, presented by the Bethany-Fenwick Area Chamber of Commerce, also has some of the BEST volunteers.

The Ocean to Bay Bike Tour benefits local first responders, Contractors for a Cause, and The Justin W. Jennings Foundation - Justin's Beach House!

Preparatory volunteer shifts will begin April 13 at the Chamber office (packet stuff, swag bag prep, and more). The main event weekend, April 24-25, requires a big group of volunteers to assist at Friday's packet pick-up and Saturday at the start/finish line and at designated rest stops. We need your help! Please see below for a comprehensive list of all volunteer opportunities.

*All volunteers will complete a USA Cycling Volunteer Waiver prior to their shift.

Volunteer Tasks

Packet Assembly:

Help assemble informational packets and swag bag items for all cyclists.

Location: Bethany-Fenwick Area Chamber of Commerce, 36913 Coastal Hwy., Fenwick Island

Dates: Monday, April 13 - Tuesday, April 21

Rest Stop Volunteers:
Assist with greeting cyclists as they enter rest stops along their route and assist with offering lite fare!
*Note: there are some designated groups who are pre-assigned to rest stops. If you have any questions about openings, please ask someone at the Chamber for clarification.

Event Check-in & Packet Pick-up:

Help check in 2,000 cyclists! Cyclists will arrive at the Bethany Beach Center to receive their bib, route map, swag bag, and shirt! Most cyclists arrive on Friday (12-7pm) but there is an early Saturday AM check-in for those who may be traveling in from out-of-state.

Finish Line Cheerleader
Greet and cheer on cyclists as they cross the finish line on Saturday!

Registration Instructions

Select the green "Register Now" button at the top of the event page
Select "Click here to continue your registration" under the "Not a member" section on the right hand side of the screen
Enter your name and contact information in appropriate fields.
Select a time slot under the volunteer assignment you would like to do. Note* if you are interested in volunteering for more than one time slot, please enter that information in the comment section. Make note of what you sign up for. You will receive communication with more details for your assignment close to your assigned date.
